From your Creations, comes Freedom.
Freedom is a state of being, a state of life, where you are un-beholden to undue outside constraints, where you can follow your dreams, where you can pursue what you want, where you can make choices without external interference, where you can choose to act, or not.
Freedom is not the absence of responsibilities, but the ability to choose them. Or to at least choose a large percentage of the set of your total responsibilities.
Freedom is an emergent property that emerges from the proper adherence to all your prior values. Freedom is generated and manifested from your prior values.
You create your Freedom.
As such, in the subset values, you will see all my other values are subsets of Freedom.
Spiritual Freedom is the base of all Freedom. You cannot be free to live your life until you have discerned how you view life, existence, God, and come to terms with your own death. This is why you see many people with extraordinary resources who are not themselves free.
Most do not understand the Freedom their Health affords them until it is taken. Appreciate it now.
Without Wisdom, you will make decisions that will trap you and limit your Freedom.
Love sets you free. Hate confines you.
Integrity provides you with inner peace, self-respect, and guilt-free consciousness. You are never free without Integrity.
Effectiveness is what creates the conditions of Freedom in your life.
Mastery provides you with the ability to thrive, and to capture more of your time.
Power, as the total set of your capacity to act, is what you use to Create.
Your Creations, whether it be your labor, a product, art, or a homestead, is what creates your Freedom.
The power to do as one pleases. Freedom from physical restraint.
The capacity, condition, or state of acting or of exerting Power.
The ability of an individual to direct their own life, make their own choices, and determine their own path without being subjected to the will of another person or entity against their wishes.
The quality or state of being self-governing
The ability to go where you please.
The ability to adapt quicker.
The ability to see the world.
Freedom is not the absence of responsibilities. It is the ability to choose the ones you want. You cannot get away from responsibility in this life.
Freedom is not the absence of constraints. Reality imposes some deterministic constraints that you cannot get around (laws of physics, etc.)
Freedom is not ultimate but rather a matter of degree.
While personal Freedom is vital, it is typically balanced against societal needs and the rights of others. For instance, one person's Freedom to act might be curtailed if it infringes on another person's rights or the collective safety of a community.
Having a Foundational Value of Freedom means that an individual places a high level of importance on the concept of freedom in their life and decision-making. This value indicates that they prioritize personal autonomy, individual rights, and the absence of constraints or limitations on their actions, choices, and beliefs.
People who hold freedom as a foundational value tend to believe in the importance of:
1. Individual Autonomy: They value the ability to make their own choices, pursue their own goals, and live their lives according to their preferences without undue interference from others.
2. Civil Liberties: They emphasize the protection of civil liberties and human rights, such as freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion, and the right to privacy.
3. Limited Government: They often support the idea of limited government intervention in personal and economic matters, believing that individuals should have the freedom to make decisions without excessive regulatory control.
4. Equal Treatment: They advocate for equal treatment and rights for all individuals, regardless of their background, identity, or beliefs.
5. Rule of Law: They value a system where laws are applied fairly and consistently, ensuring that individuals are not subjected to arbitrary or unjust restrictions on their freedom.
6. Personal Responsibility: They believe that with freedom comes responsibility, and individuals should be accountable for the consequences of their actions.
7. Entrepreneurship and Innovation: They often see freedom as a catalyst for entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity, as individuals are empowered to pursue new ideas and ventures without unnecessary barriers.
8. Diversity of Thought: They appreciate diverse perspectives and viewpoints, recognizing that freedom allows for the expression of differing opinions and the opportunity for constructive dialogue.
It's important to note that while freedom is a core value for many people, its interpretation and application can vary. Some might prioritize economic freedom, while others might focus more on social or political freedoms. Additionally, conflicts can arise when different values come into play, such as when individual freedom clashes with concerns for social justice or the well-being of others. As with any value, the significance of freedom and how it's balanced with other values will depend on an individual's beliefs, experiences, and cultural context.
As mentioned above, Freedom is an emergent property that emerges from all your other values and how you live your life. The way to develop Freedom in your life is by adhering to your values and creating value for others. It is a long pursuit.
I commit to earn my Freedom by providing value to others, including you, the one reading this.
I commit not to make my pursuit of Freedom something that makes me recoil from my responsibilities.
I commit to fight for the Freedoms of others. I commit to fight for your Freedom.
