The EDG is a small investment firm. I sourced, evaluated, and placed investments in private companies and provided ongoing operational and administrative support as needed.
Through the EDG I've been an operating partner in the Food & Beverage, Healthcare, Biotech, Franchise Branding, Facilities Services, Media, & Contracting industries. I also offered consulting services through this entity.
Altris is a deep-tech company developing integrated, modular systems across clean power, hydrogen, water, agriculture, advanced materials, and medical technologies.
While at Altris I assisted with research, analysis, and strategy for multidisciplinary projects spanning clean energy, materials science, manufacturing, sustainable agriculture, and infrastructure.
MVH was a restaurant group that owned 2 award winning restaurants in the Salt Lake City area and was simultaneously developing 3 more. I fulfilled various roles for them culminating in my role as Operations & Systems Analyst for the broader hospitality group.
Supported portfolio analysis, investment research, and client-advisory operations within a practice managing approximately $250MM in assets, gaining foundational experience in professional wealth management.

The process of identifying specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals and creating a plan to achieve them. It involves taking stock of your current situation, considering what you want to achieve, and developing a clear and actionable plan to get there.
After you have your goals you need to learn about it. This skill includes research, critical thinking, teleological thinking, ontological thinking, knowing what's important, quantitative reasoning, qualitative reasoning, etc.
Strategizing is a way of thinking about and approaching a problem or situation in order to achieve a desired outcome. A strategy considers all of the resources at your disposal and how best to utilize them to achieve your goal. It includes the process of identifying the points of leverage and highest impact available and concentrating your forces at those points.
Taking a strategy and breaking it down into actionable steps.
Acquiring the resources, assets, and foundation to execute your plan.
Doing it. This includes decision making, problem solving, time management, project management, adaptability, creativity, etc.
This is primarily a humility to keep adapting and continually pushing the envelope. It is a skill in itself to acknowledge that your work is never done.
The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with others.
The ability to clearly and effectively convey information and ideas to others, both orally and in writing.
The ability to affect the thoughts, feelings, or behavior of others. Sales is influence.
The ability to identify and resolve conflicts in a productive manner.
The ability to motivate and guide a team towards a common goal.
I can learn and use any computer, and any program. I am good with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Sketchup, networking, etc.
I am competent at data analysis, but I am actively and aggressively pursuing improvement in this category.
I'm adept at this. I have an ability to switch between project paranoia and allowing things to develop naturally.
I can envision, draw, or CAD, anything.
I have spent the last 7 years analyzing, selecting, and managing investments. I have more work to do and more to learn.
I have helped 6 companies startup their operations. This covers everything from ideation, to licensing, to branding, to lease negotiations, to build out, to operations flow charting, you name it. These are different skills than ongoing business management.
I have broad experience in the two types of Business Management: Business Administration and Operations Management.
